Young Goodman Brown by Nathaniel Hawkthorn

The allegorical significance of Young Goodman Brown is that humankind nature is to sin. The dialect and the reference to the Salem Witch Trials by using the term witch and witchcraft throughout the story shows how relevant it is to the seventeenth-century. One the themes of this story is how one's mistrust of others may lead oneself to damned life. Another theme would be how society has its good people there are evil people in it as well.
